Margate Train Tasmania

This locomotive MA3 was built by Robert Stephenson and Hawthorn in 1951 for the
Tasmanian Government Railways. MA3 is on display at Margate on the main road
with some passenger coaches and a railcar. The locos coaches and railcar make up
some little shops including a book store, barber, lolly shop and a great pancake
parlour where we had brunch. The menu was very different to your normal pancake
place. I tried the beef stroganoff pancakes and my Mrs had the chicken in creamy
white wine sauce topped with cashews and peanuts pancakes. There are quite a
number of different toppings to choose from and all meals are a decent size. It is
a very clever idea the way the train has been set up, as it attracts alot of tourists
(locals too).. Great to see it preserved and displayed in such a useful way!
